The Second ACM Celebration of Women in Computing in Africa: AfricaCWIC 2024<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The ACM Celebration of Women in Computing: AfricaCWIC is aimed at connecting women from diverse technical disciplines and encouraging them to pursue excellence in their studies or profession.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AfricaCWIC brings together women in the computing profession and related technical fields to exchange knowledge and experiences and provide special support for women who are pursuing their academic degrees and starting their careers in computing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2nd<\/sup> ACM Celebration of Women in Computing in Africa builds on the previous event which was held in 2022 and was the inaugural AfricaCWIC. The 2022 theme, Building Revolutionary<\/strong> Digital Mindsets<\/strong>, was chosen to show how innovations can be used to change our world and to showcase women’s efforts towards this goal. This year’s theme is Strategies to Foster Women’s Inclusion and Participation in Computing<\/strong>, and it conveys our commitment to not only talk about the barriers women in computing face, but to put our heads together to come up with ways to break down those barriers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AfricaCWIC provides a unique experience of the collective energy, drive and excellence that professional women share to support each other through a programme packed with insightful topics, and engaging educational and networking activities. AfricaCWIC 2024 will be a hybrid event, with the in-person part hosted at the United States International University – Africa<\/a> in Nairobi, Kenya on 1 November 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
