Theme: Building Bridges for Impact: Ubuntu-Driven Innovation by Women in Computing
The ACM Celebration of Women in Computing in Africa (AfricaCWIC 2026) brings together women from across the continent and beyond to connect, collaborate, and lead the future of computing. The 2-day conference is dedicated to empowering women across diverse technical disciplines and supporting excellence in education, research, and industry.
AfricaCWIC creates a vibrant platform for women in computing and related fields to share knowledge, exchange experiences, and build lasting networks. The event also places special emphasis on supporting students, early-career professionals, and researchers as they navigate and shape their careers in technology.
Building on the success of previous AfricaCWIC events held in 2022 and 2024, AfricaCWIC 2026 continues the tradition of advancing inclusion, innovation, and leadership in African computing. The conference celebrates the impact women have had — and continue to have — in shaping technology, while fostering meaningful conversations and actionable ideas for the future.
AfricaCWIC 2026 offers a dynamic programme featuring keynote addresses, panel discussions, poster showcases, speed mentoring, and dedicated workshops led by industry professionals. Participants can expect engaging technical content, mentorship opportunities, and spaces designed to encourage collaboration across academia, industry, and communities.
Join us in Cape Town for two inspiring days of learning, connection, and celebration. Whether attending in person or engaging with the broader AfricaCWIC community, you’ll be part of a powerful network committed to shaping a more inclusive future for computing.
